We are a new church coming to Kirkwood, MO in September of 2019. At Redemption we believe that Jesus is better than anything else, and we want to see the people of Kirkwood and the surrounding areas meet Jesus on a personal level. It sounds pretty crazy to meet God on a personal level, but we believe you can meet Him personally. That’s why we do this church thing. We don’t just want you to meet Him, but we want you to get to know Him. As you meet Him and get to know Him, we know the Jesus will change every single area of your life. We believe that He will change you into a different person, a person who is more loving, generous, and joyful. A person that looks more like Jesus. We want a front row seat to see that change.
To see the people of Kirkwood and the surrounding areas meet, know, and live for Jesus.
Jesus values multiplication. It is the mission he gave to the church. Therefore, it should be a value of the Church today. Time and again, we see the example of multiplication over addition in the New Testament. The Spirit moved on the day of Pentacost and 3,000 were added that day, but later we see the Spirit adding others through the influence of those 3,000. In 2 Timothy, Paul commands Timothy to teach others the things he taught Timothy. Then Paul commands those men to teach others. Addition happens when the vision and mission stops with the recipients, multiplication happens when the vision and mission transcends generations. At Redemption Community Church, we are dedicated to both multiplication and generations.
Psalms is one place in the Bible we can read of the commandment to teach our children and our children’s children the glories of God, as it reads, “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. …so the next generation might know them - even the children not yet born - and they in turn will teach their own children.” Redemption Community Church will be committed to multiplying disciples in those alive today and in those to be born in the generations to come. We are dedicated to leaving a legacy.
In a time of Photoshop and an abundance of satirical websites, skepticism is at an all-time high. However, the search for truth has always been at the forefront of humanity. Even Pontius Pilate, in the face of Jesus’ conviction and sentencing, asked the question, “What is truth?” At Redemption Community Church, we are committed to seeking out the truth of Jesus Christ and making it known to our Kirkwood community.
In the book of Romans, we are called to welcome one another for the glory of God, just as Christ has welcomed us. We also see this spirit of hospitality in the book of John, where we are called to love one another as Christ has loved us. Disciples of Christ are people filled with love and hospitality. The world will know we are Christ’s disciples by the way we love one another. Hospitality is more than a good thing to do; it is a way to pave the road of evangelism with a non-believer. It is a way to attract the unchurched to God and cause them to question why our love for others is so strong and selfless.
It is out of God’s generosity to us that we learn and know generosity. God has been abundantly generous to us as he gave us the world’s most amazing gift, his son Jesus Christ. We can never match God’s generosity, but in a way we get to mimic what he modeled for us. Redemption Community Church is a people who gives generously back to the Church and to others in our community. We give above and beyond what the world expects us to and in our generosity the world will wonder what God we serve.
